Our Commitment

Klocke Estate is a place of public accommodation and strives to meet its obligations under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by making its digital content accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities.

Conformance Goal

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. WCAG is developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and is the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.

Note: While WCAG 2.2 is the current standard (published October 2023), WCAG 2.1 Level AA remains the most widely referenced benchmark in legal contexts as of 2026. Content that meets WCAG 2.2 also meets WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.0 requirements. As accessibility standards evolve, including future versions of WCAG, we will review updates and adopt new requirements where feasible.

Current Accessibility Features

Our website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone

  • Skip Navigation: "Skip to Content" link allows users to bypass repetitive navigation menus

  • Semantic HTML: Proper heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) and HTML5 structural elements for screen reader compatibility

  • Alternative Text: Descriptive alt text for images to convey visual information to screen reader users

  • Readable Typography: Clear, legible fonts in appropriate sizes

  • Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1

  • Responsive Design: Content adapts to different screen sizes, devices, and zoom levels up to 200%

  • Form Accessibility: All form fields include visible labels, proper markup, and error identification

  • Link Purpose: Links have descriptive text that clearly indicates their destination

  • Focus Indicators: Visible focus indicators show keyboard users where they are on the page

Known Limitations & Ongoing Improvements

We acknowledge the following areas where accessibility can be improved and are actively working to address them:

  • PDF Documents: Some downloadable menus (food, cocktail, wine, spirits lists) may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We are working to provide accessible HTML alternatives or properly remediated PDFs. All new PDFs created after 12/31/2026 will follow PDF/UA and WCAG 2.2 guidelines unless an accessible HTML equivalent is provided.

  • Image Carousels: The homepage slideshow may present navigation challenges for some keyboard and screen reader users. We are improving ARIA labels, keyboard controls, and auto-play settings.

  • Video Content: We are working to ensure all video content includes captions and transcripts.

Third-Party Services

Certain features on our website are provided by third-party vendors:

  • Resy (restaurant reservation system)

  • AnyRoad (distillery tour reservation system)

  • Perfect Venue (event reservation system)

  • Shopify (online shop)

  • Social media embeds (Instagram, FaceBook, LinkedIn)

While we select vendors who prioritize accessibility, we cannot guarantee full accessibility of all third-party platforms, as they are beyond our direct control. If you encounter accessibility barriers with third-party services, please contact us at info@klocke-estate.com and we will provide alternative ways to access the information or complete your transaction. We can assist with reservations by email or phone if third‑party platforms present accessibility barriers. This matches DOJ recommendations for functional alternatives.

Limitations of Automated Overlays

We do not rely solely on automated accessibility widgets or overlay tools. While these tools can be helpful, the U.S. Department of Justice has stated that automated tools and overlays alone cannot guarantee ADA compliance. True accessibility requires addressing underlying code, design, and content—not just adding a plugin.

Limitations of Reasonable Effort

While we make every reasonable effort to ensure accessibility of our digital content, there may be technical or practical limitations. We are committed to providing alternative access when barriers are identified.
